HVG Graphics hires Morris
Adrian Morris takes strategic growth role, looks to take printers into new markets

HVG Graphics Media has hired former staffer Adrian Morris to its Sydney-based Graphics Media team as its strategic growth manager.

Morris has rejoined HVG following experience gained through leadership roles at both Océ and Canon Australia. He says, “We are seeing a lot of consolidation happening in the industry. With that comes opportunity to leverage HVG’s strong client relationships, and go deeper and wider into companies as they do buyouts and acquisitions.

“HVG has the expertise and experience in those transitions that companies going through the process are looking for.

“There is a convergence happening between different markets we operate in. Not just print, but other industries that use the materials we sell. We expect to see print converge with them, and will seek to benefit from that.

“For example, we supply a lot of product into building and traditional textile companies, and there is going to be a convergence in those industries with print. It comes down to digital print technology being able to make an impact outside of traditional print sectors, opening up new applications.”

The company says Adrian’s depth of knowledge, experience and skillset will help to both support and create growth pathways with new, and existing customers alike.

Morris says, “I was attracted to my new role within HVG because I identify strongly with its vision and growth aspirations, and ultimately, the opportunity I have to lead the company on this path.

“HVG is a progressive company with a strong market reputation and national footprint – we will leverage this now more than ever. As we kick off 2018, I am looking forward to contributing to this successful 40 plus year-old business as it continues to evolve and prosper.”

Richard Lucas, general manager, HVG Graphics Media, says, “We are excited to have Adrian re-join our team after having worked in our Melbourne office 12 years ago.

“He returns to HVG with an abundance of both knowledge and experience, to help us build growth across the board. We look forward to his entrepreneurial vision enabling and innovating growth in our business.”

As for what has changed and stayed the same since his first role at the company, Morris says, “There is a lot of consistency in what we do, product, delivery systems, logistics, and partnerships, which gives a reputation of repeatability and trust.

“What has changed is the strategy and direction of the business, it is very clear and focused, with the graphics portfolio smaller than 12 years ago. At the same time, there has been growth in all areas of the business since I left.”

Based in the HVG head office in Turrella, Sydney, HVG Graphics Media says Morris will work with the team across its core consumables markets in digital print, sign and reflective, banner and substrates.

Core brands represented include 3M, Dibond, Dilite, Dispa, Forex, Foamalite, FomeCor, Gatorfoam, Kapa, Reboard, Revolution, Smart-X, and Viewseries.
